The Brazil MTC was established in November 1977 and moved to its new location (the largest Church-built facility outside of the United States) in 1997.
The Brazil MTC is (to date) the largest building the Church has constructed outside the United States. The MTC is located in a busy area of suburban São Paulo, approximately 45 minutes from the airport and 45 minutes from the São Paulo Brazil Temple and the Brazil Area offices.
The MTC building consists of residence rooms, classrooms, a kitchen, a cafeteria, laundry facilities, a gymnasium, chapels, and staff offices.
Exercise facilities include one large outdoor sports court for basketball and volleyball, one outdoor walking path, a large indoor gym for basketball and volleyball, and an exercise room with stationary exercise equipment.
The MTC can train up to 450 missionaries at a time.
