Hope of Israel

I love the cry of the hymn "Hope of Israel." I love the joy and exuberance, the hope and faith, and the absence of fear in these words. As we put on the armor of righteousness, including the sword of truth and right, we can defeat our foe: he whom the scriptures call “the old serpent,” “the enemy of righteousness,” or the “adversary.”
