One night in the middle of January, must have been early '02, I was just up working late at night on a computer. And in my mind popped the Mormons. This was before I started meeting with the missionaries. And I was on the Internet. And I typed in the Mormons in the Internet and found mormon.org. And that was my first real introduction to the Church. And I remembered reading about questions like, why are we here? And learning that their idea of well, we're here to have families and be happy. And where are we going? Well, there is a plan. And that we are going to heaven and that the families could be together if we follow this plan. And the mormon.org site was so-- there was so much information on there. I just couldn't read it all. And all of it made perfect sense to me that, you know, there's organization and there's meaning to life here that wasn't part of my life up until that point. And that there was so much more to life that I wasn't taking advantage of.

Doug and his wife, Debbie Jo, live in Charlottesville, Virginia, with their three children. Doug and Debbie Jo were baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in June 2002.
