One of the things about being an investigator of the Church is that for me, it was a real challenge for me. The fact that this farm boy a couple hundred miles from here saw God, you know, not 200 years ago--it's something that was so hard to wrap my mind around. And they scheduled a meeting for the bishop to come over. And he said something very simple, but it hit me at the time as, you know, for the first time in your life, you may just have to take a leap of faith. You may just have to accept that there are things that you can't have answers to, and that you have to take this leap. And that very simple idea just struck me as profound at the time. Do I have the faith to take this first step? And that commitment, that switch, that lightbulb that went off in my head--it was a great relief. The truth of the matter is, and the doctrine that I've been taught and have faith in is that there is a big picture and that there is an opportunity for just a wonderful eternal life. And that gives you so much hope. Kiren lives near Boston, Massachusetts, where he works as a software developer. He and his wife, Susan, have four sons and a daughter.
