My name is Joey,
and I'm from Alaska. Two big things happened
to me last year. One was being baptized a
member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. The other was
becoming a Cub Scout. A Cub Scout promises to
always help other people. One night I was able to use the
Holy Ghost to help my family.
My dad was still at work
when I heard a loud hissing noise from our furnace room.
The still, small voice
of the Holy Ghost told me I should tell my
mom about it right away. She listened to me and
discovered a gas leak near the furnace. She told my brothers,
sisters, and me to leave our house quickly
and to get in the car.
Just as we jumped in the car
and drove off our driveway, our house exploded and
then caught on fire. But because I listened
to the Holy Ghost, I helped save my family. My dad was very grateful
when he came home and saw our whole family safe and sound. I am thankful I could
help my family because I listened to the Holy Ghost. I am Joey, and I am
one in a million.
