"And he spake this parable unto them, saying, What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing." The work of activation is not always easy. Faith and strength in the Lord are required to accomplish His work. But leaders who fulfill the Lord's command to find His lost sheep will also find great joy in His service. The greatest joy will be to see the change in the hearts of returning members. The Savior taught, "And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me in the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me!" As you ponder the work of rescuing, watch the following testimonies and consider these questions: What does the Church mean to those who have returned? How do they feel toward those who helped them?

The scriptures teach that during the Savior's ministry in the Americas, "he took their little children, one by one, and blessed them, and prayed unto the Father for them." When leaders minister one by one, they are able to invite less-active members to return, change, and experience the joy of the Saints. This is why leaders minister to less-active members and their families one by one.
