[OCEAN ROARING] Nobody thought a big wave like this could hit us. We listened to the radio. We broadcast that it was a 7.9 earthquake.

[? One ?] has to get out. We heard a thundering noise. We glanced over at the sea and saw a huge wave coming. We had no time. As we were running we saw lumber and sheet metal flying. There were so many screams of those wanting to live.

These are my children. The oldest is three and the youngest is two. The wave came at us so fast. That's when I was separated from my children. I didn't know where they went. I went looking for my kids. They were both taken by the tsunami.

That same day I heard news that my mom passed away as well. I was very discouraged to know about what had happened to my family. [MUSIC PLAYING] We had a call this morning that told us basically we had four truckloads of product that we needed to get pulled and shipped for the airlift to Samoa.

This is a shipment of goods desperately needed in Samoa. That supplements a relief effort that has been underway among our local members. We have been in constant contact with our people on the ground there. We will continue to provide as needed. [MUSIC PLAYING] Being a Samoan, going out and help all the people, the local people of our country, it's one of the things that make me really proud of being a Christian. I'm helping out my own people.

The needed needs of the people were met on the first day, like clothing, foodstuffs, and water. The members of the LDS Church were there. I can't express my appreciation of everybody, including the Church members of the LDS here in Samoa.

I feel happy that we have received help from the Church. I am happy that everyone has helped build us a new home. My children are buried under the house. I am so grateful for the help of the Church. They have helped us with houses and food and clothes. Drinks. The Church has helped us, and very quickly. I have a strong faith. Many people have comforted me to know that my mother and children are in a better place. [MUSIC PLAYING] Here in the village of Malua we are a family. It is much easier to go through this with others so that we can help each other. Our burden has been lightened because of the help of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. [MUSIC PLAYING]
