Monday morning, we woke up. We were in Toronto, and then, pretty quickly, the choir members were required to leave and get over to the Roy Thomson Hall for a sound check. Father Rosica was nervous. He got up in front of the choir. If they're available, they like to bring him to the sound check so he can have a chance to run through it once. So they had both him and Jerry Gray there that morning. And they ran through "Battle Hymn," or through "This Land Is Your Land" twice, once for each of them, to let them direct. And Father Rosica got up in front of the choir and just said, "This is every priest's dream to stand in front of you, but I'm scared to death." At the concert, he was a little more [UNINTELLIGIBLE]. It was a sold-out concert and there was a house full of people. But he did great. It was a lot of fun. When Jerry Gray conducted that evening-- and he told me he was going to do this-- Jerry was going out there and just having a blast, and really, really enjoyed himself, big grin. And just, clearly he had a wonderful time and enjoyed the whole thing. He said, "If it all ended tonight, once I get a chance to direct, it would be worth it." When President Monson got up, he said, "I don't have any hesitancy at all to say there's no finer choir in the entire world than the Tabernacle Choir." And he said, "The Tabernacle Choir in combination with the Orchestra at Temple Square," he said, "their music is magnificent." That was very humbling. That really was. I was very touched to hear him say that. It kind of raises the bar quite a ways. And your concert better be up to that kind of praise. We had a total confidence and faith and knowledge that there would be something there to feel. They would feel the Spirit if they were open to it at all, because there's such a powerful spirit that accompanies the choir. It's a deeply moving spiritual feast to go on tour with the choir. It really is. And on top of that, you get to have a bunch of fantastic friends. And it becomes very, very much a family.
