Prophets throughout the ages have stood as witnesses of truth. As we read in Amos 3:7, "Surely the Lord God will do nothing but he revealeth His secret unto His servants, the prophets." The same has been true through all the days of the Restoration. Watch as latter-day prophets from Joseph Smith to Thomas S. Monson testify of divine and eternal principles of the gospel. The Prophet Joseph Smith said, "And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of Him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of Him, that He lives." President Brigham Young said, "I can bear testimony that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true, and the word of the Lord, whether written or spoken, is true. " President John Taylor said, "I know that God rules and reigns in this nation and among the nations of the earth, and that He will direct all things according to the counsels of His will." "I bear my testimony that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, ordained of God to lay the foundation of His Church and kingdom in the last dispensation and fulness of time. This is my testimony spoken by myself, into a talking machine, on this the 19th day of March, 1897, in the 91st year of my age." [UNINTELLIGIBLE] President Lorenzo Snow said, "The time has now come for every Latter-day Saint who calculates to be prepared for the future and to hold his feet strong upon a proper foundation, to do the will of the Lord, and to pay his tithing in full."
"There is nothing in the world as evident than the performance of my duties as a servant in the cause of truth." "No other people in the world like us. No other people with the power that we have. Why? Because we're following a prophet of the living God. There are some people who are members of the Church, their names are on the record, and they have an idea that that's all that's necessary. But the time will come when they will have to face their record, and their admission into the celestial kingdom will be conditioned upon the way they have observed the advice of our Heavenly Father right here on earth." "Members of the Church of Christ are under obligation to make this sinless Son of Man their ideal, the one perfect being who ever walked the earth." "We plead with fathers and mothers to teach personal purity, by precept and example, and to counsel with their children in all such things." "This people must increase in beauty before the Lord. Have an inward lovingness which may be observed by mankind as a reflection in holiness and in those inherent qualities of sanctity." "The borders of Zion where the righteous and pure in heart may dwell must now begin to be enlarged. The stakes of Zion must be strengthened. Individual members of the Church, the major strides which must be made by the Church will follow upon the major strides to be made by us as individuals. We have paused on some plateaus long enough, let us resume to journey forward and upward." "We have the Book of Mormon. We have the members. We have the missionaries. We have the resources and the world has the need. The time is now." "I bless you in your efforts to live a more Christlike life.
I bless you with an increased desire to be worthy of a temple recommend and to attend the temple as frequently as circumstance allow." "I am grateful to be able to say that our building people, our architects, our engineers, our designers, and furnishing experts that advise me, that in all likelihood we will have a hundred or more temples operating in the year 2000, nearly twice the number we have today." "For we have the sure knowledge that God lives and that Jesus is the Christ. I pray heaven's blessings to be with you. May your homes be filled with harmony and love. May you constantly nourish your testimonies that they might be a protection to you against the adversary. As your humble servant, I desire with all my heart to do God's will and to serve Him and to serve you."
