The Church handbook states: "The ward Young Men presidency consists of a president and two counselors. They serve as advisers to the Aaronic Priesthood quorums. They work under the direction of the bishopric." As you listen to these advisers, you may want to focus on the responsibilities of quorum advisers and the blessings that can come to you and to the young men you are called to serve as you fulfill your responsibilities.

Quorum advisers are called to support and guide the quorum presidents, who hold the keys of the priesthood to lead the quorum. [SPEAKING SPANISH]

So Young Men really should be backing up what the quorum leaders, i.e. the boys, are doing, and giving them the support they need to do what they need to do, but really facilitating their exercise of the keys rather than doing it for them. This support and facilitation occur as you fulfill your duties. The duties of a quorum adviser are to counsel in leadership meetings, facilitate learning and teaching, and help plan and conduct activities.

A Young Men president serves as a member of the ward council and the priesthood executive committee, in which he participates in efforts to strengthen individuals and families in the ward. He also supports and guides quorum presidents as they attend bishopric youth council and hold quorum presidency meetings. To coordinate these efforts, the ward Young Men president, counselors, and secretary meet together in their regular ward Young Men presidency meeting.

Advisers facilitate learning and teaching in quorum meetings and activities. They involve quorum presidencies in this effort. They regularly participate in teaching and help the young men share and teach each other. As leaders prepare spiritually, the Lord blesses them to know how to help the young men become converted.
