I'm Jason Wetherington. I'm an elders quorum president, and I've been in that calling one day. The biggest question is "What do I have to do, and how do I do it?" Never having been an assistant ward mission leader, I wondered, what did the Lord want of me? What was my role in all of this? [SPEAKING JAPANESE]
Most of us must wonder ourselves at times, "Am I prepared for this assignment?" My answer is "Yes, you have been prepared." There are a lot more people that know more about the Church, or more about this, that, and the other. But it's not about knowing; it's about how you are. The Lord can turn those apparent shortcomings into strengths. He's a confident person, but he's not always been a confident person. And I think the more that he's done it and the more that he's had to work alongside people, I can see that the confidence has come. I think that's one of the greatest things that I've learned as elders quorum president--to really love the people. And being in the elders quorum presidency, I've been able to serve them and been able to develop that love for them. I promise you if you do all that you can, God will magnify your strength and your wisdom. He will season you. He and His resurrected and glorified Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to an inexperienced boy, Joseph Smith. They trusted him with the Restoration of the fulness of the gospel and of the true Church. They prepared him. And They are preparing us for the strength to keep working toward the celestial glory that is the aim and the reason of all priesthood service.
