[MUSIC PLAYING] Today we visited the Beehive House on Temple Square. It was the house of the prophet Brigham Young. It was awesome to see everything inside.

The sister missionaries gave us a tour. It's called the Beehive House because Brigham Young believed that his children could work together like bees. There are even beehives engraved on the staircases.

Some of the things were there when Brigham Young was alive.

The pioneers didn't have a lot of money, so they used what they had to decorate their homes. There was a couch made out of horsehair and decorations made out of people hair.

My favorite room is the toy room because Brigham Young wanted his children to learn as they played. All the toys were so small.

President Young also believed that it was important for his children to learn how to play musical instruments. At night Brigham Young would ring a bell to tell his children to come inside. And they would all sit in the sitting room, and the children would play violins and other instruments.

I'm learning to play the piano, and I think it's neat that kids were doing the same thing 150 years ago. When guests came to visit, the children would watch them from a room they called the fairy castle. Many important people would come to the Beehive House, including the author Mark Twain. I felt like a princess walking around the house. Everything was so beautiful. It made me feel happy to be in a house where a prophet of God once lived. I hope we can go back someday.
