If we really want to learn, we're going to have to share what we feel.
There's more opportunities to share. It's more of a discussion, I guess, in our class. Not really yes and no answers, not wrong or right answers, just a time to share your experiences. Before you were not supposed to talk, but this you're allowed to talk. And I like that. You're allowed to converse with other people. It's not easy to share, though. The hardest part, really, is to start talking. When we started this, it didn't just shoot off. Like, nobody was just throwing out answers. There was awkward silence. The silence you hear when no one has an answer to say is good. That's where we can feel the Spirit the best. And that's when the Spirit can whisper to you. I've heard some of the best experiences from waiting a couple minutes. But when we share, we understand the gospel better.
It's important for us to talk, because when we talk we're able to think about our own experiences and our own lives. When a teacher is talking it's kind of like, "Oh yeah, they're our leader. They know everything. Of course they say this is true." But with us, we're having the experiences ourselves, and we can learn from each other. And when we talk together, we come together. Now, Matt here, he would not say anything in class. You wouldn't think that he was anything spiritual. Nothing against you. He wouldn't say anything. And now this strong man is--if we would get off one tangent, this guy will take over. And he's giving a talk. It's really opened my eyes about him. You have some people that are just so soft-spoken or really don't say anything at all. And then through this curriculum, they're given that chance to speak out more. And not only do you learn their testimony, but a lot more of their personality. And it's really cool to be able to see that. Most of all, when we share our thoughts and experiences, the Holy Ghost testifies to us that what we're saying is true. [SPEAKING SPANISH] And when we feel the witness of the Holy Ghost, our faith and confidence grow.
I would say that there's just a greater confidence in expressing how you feel about the gospel, because you've had to learn it better and share it in classes. And everybody has to participate, so they're more confident in how they feel about it.
