To help His disciples connect the gospel to their lives, the Savior often taught through stories and examples. A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among thieves. His parables were simple. He spoke about things the people knew and understood. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was, and had compassion on him. He asked them to think about what His stories meant. Which now of these three thinkest thou was neighbor unto him that fell among thieves?

He that showed mercy unto him. And He invited them to apply what He taught in their own lives.

Go, and do thou likewise. Some of our favorite stories will be the ones you share from your own life. When you share your experiences with us, we'll see the gospel in action in the life of someone we know and love. That will help us put it into action ourselves. A testimony need not always begin with the phrase "I bear you my testimony." Our witness can be declared as simply as "I know I was blessed with inspiration at work today" or "The truth in this scripture always has been a powerful source of direction for me." [SPEAKING SPANISH] I had been raised in the Church, and even still I asked myself if it was true. One Sunday, I read the Book of Mormon and I prayed. I prayed very hard and I said, "If I'm going to come to church every Sunday, then I have to know for myself if it is true." And I felt a burning inside me. A voice seemed to whisper to my heart, "You know it's true. You've always known." I've never forgotten those words--"You know it's true, Estefani. You've always known." As you share, you can encourage us to share too. [SPEAKING SPANISH] There was a time when I asked myself if the Church was true.

And I had an incredible experience. After reading the scriptures, I knelt down to pray, and I felt something so beautiful. Hearing and sharing real-life experiences invites the inspiration of the Holy Ghost. [SPEAKING SPANISH] As I shared my experience in class today, I could really feel the Spirit. I felt happy and excited. I knew, it was totally clear to me that this is the true Church. As the Spirit testifies to us that what we have said is true, the Lord's words from the Doctrine and Covenants are fulfilled. We are edified, and we rejoice together.
