[MUSIC PLAYING] Hey, welcome to our presidency meeting. Thayer, would you like to open it with an opening prayer, please? Yeah. OK, thanks. And then Jonathan, you have the spiritual thought? Yeah. So I was reading last night a talk from Tad R. Callister from the last April general conference. He talks specifically about quorum presidencies, as well, and how they can magnify their calling and become more effective in their quorums. And Thayer, can you review minutes from last time, please? Yes. Last week we talked about Sister Wycherly in our ward, that she needed the sacrament brought to them. And so, Bishop, do you have any thoughts about this? We'll follow up with Brother Wycherly following church and see if they still need that service provided for them. And if so, we'll go ahead and make assignments for a couple of our young men, our priests, to take care of that assignment. Will you follow up on that, please? Yeah, I can take care of that. And then also, our activity last time was combined; we did the scripture trivia. I think it went well. It seemed like a lot of the members of our quorum really enjoyed it. OK. And it looks like our upcoming activity is the trampoline night. Hopefully we can get Brian there and make him feel wanted and have a great time in our quorum, and build some quorum unity with that activity as well. So I've been praying lately about Brian. And as I was praying, I stumbled upon this scripture. It's Luke 22:32: "But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren." It would be good if we go out and strengthen him. Do you guys have any ideas of maybe how we could reach out to him as well and help him out? Well, I notice that his birthday is coming up here at the end of the month. And I was thinking maybe we could do a surprise birthday party for him at the church and then have the Laurels bake him a cake. And I think he'll feel very loved. I think that would be a really good idea, too. Maybe you should focus a Mutual activity around what he likes to do, possibly? Do you guys know what he likes to do? I think if we reach out to him and do things with him outside of Mutual and Young Men, then he'd be more willing to come. I think maybe we could, like you said, invite him to come hang out with us on the weekend--go see a movie. So I think the next step, Jon, is to move forward with that. Take it to another level and invite him to that movie. Invite him to go hang out with your friends; that's a great idea. So Jonathan, will you do that this week? Yeah, absolutely. OK. Sounds good. And once we do get him to church, do you guys have any ideas of what we could teach during the lessons that could maybe benefit our quorum the most, or maybe even Brian? Well, I like the lesson on schedule here from the Duty to God, "How Can I Invite Others to Come unto Christ?" This is a great opportunity for us to practice our missionary skills. OK. Yeah, I like that lesson. And then maybe we can end off with the lesson "Why Do We Need the Book of Mormon?" So Thayer, do you want to teach the lesson "How Can I Invite Others to Come unto Christ?" Yeah. And then "Why Do We Need the Book of Mormon?"--maybe, Bishop, you could teach that since you've already had some missionary experience? I've had a little missionary experience with the Book of Mormon. So I'd love to take that one. Thanks, John. OK. So for quorum business, we have "administer the sacrament." And you said you're working on a schedule for assignments? We've had a lot of new priests come into the quorum, and so I'll work on making a new sacrament schedule as well as visits. And then we're also getting a new priest, Laker. He's coming in next week. So I think we should schedule a visit with him, maybe talk to him and his dad and get him ready to bless the sacrament and tell him what we do on a daily basis. Yeah, I think today in quorum meeting we can talk a little bit about home teaching and maybe ask for a couple of the boys' examples from their home teaching experience. I know last week we wanted everybody to read their scriptures for their Duty to God. So maybe during quorum meeting today, some of us can set the example and maybe share some of our testimonies of what we felt when we were doing this commitment. I think that's a great idea. If I can add to that, I love to hear you guys say that you're going to set the example. You're the leaders in the quorum, and I think these guys look up to you and they recognize that. I think it would be good to hear from all of us. OK. And then Bishop, do you have any training for us? I do. There's something I wanted to cover with you, brethren, this morning with regards to your leadership responsibilities in our quorum. So in the Handbook 2, in the third section, it talks about leadership principles and leadership skills. ... So that's the training. And I leave that with you in the name of Jesus Christ, amen. Amen. Thanks, Bishop, for that training. And then Brother Durfee, can you close this with a prayer, please? Yeah, you bet. Thanks, John.
