OK. Welcome to our presidency meeting. There are several choices for the lesson outlined next month. Let's talk about the new deacons that are coming in.
I think presidency meetings are important because if you don't have them, you don't really know where to go with the quorum. There's great value in a quorum presidency meeting. For our priests quorum, we hold the presidency meeting every Sunday to give them an opportunity to review assignments and to discuss the needs of the quorum so that when we hold a quorum meeting and those young men in our presidency conduct and lead in there, they're prepared for that. So for quorum business, we have "administer the sacrament." And you said you're working on a schedule for-- Yeah. --assignments. I get to train and provide training for those young men and teach them their responsibility and their duties so that they can go out and perform those duties. So in the handbook, number 2, in the third section, it talks about leadership principles and leadership skills that we should have and that we should develop. It's a very good chance to discuss what we need to do to make our quorum stronger and each one of us stronger individually as well. Sometimes we feel that we can just listen and gain our testimony from our leaders. But I think a testimony is gained through prayer and through personal revelation. Agendas are important for them in the same way that it's important for me--it helps me to focus, helps me to know what the priorities are, and helps me know what the needs are. And an agenda can be a tool for them to enable them to be effective leaders so that they know what it is they're striving to accomplish. They do not have to look to us for direction and guidance because we've already counseled about that, and they can exercise their priesthood leadership and carry out those duties within the quorum on their own. And then Thayer, can you review assignments for last week, please? All right, last week we got an assignment from the bishop that Sister Wycherly needed the sacrament taken to her. I think what I've learned being in the presidency is how to be a better leader and how to love each one of those in my quorum more. There is preparation that's required for an effective quorum meeting. When we are prepared, the Spirit of the Lord can come in. And then obviously, testimony and being willing to be led by the Spirit are important. Thanks, Tyson, for your thought that you shared today. And thank you, everybody else, for your thoughts and your experiences. I really feel the Spirit when you guys are speaking.
