[MUSIC PLAYING] My name is Hector. I love preaching the gospel. Having the ability to just go up to a person and talk to them about the gospel, I guess, is practice for me for when I go out on my mission. And be able to have that kind face where a person can just walk up and say hi. Just be friendly. Share your testimony over and over and over again. I know that he told me about when he prayed to just know that the Book of Mormon is true. And he told me when he prayed, he felt the Spirit, and he knew it. And he said, "If I know it, I have to do it." And he was baptized real shortly after that. As soon as he received his answer, his witness that he knew it, he decided to be baptized. And when he was baptized, he immediately helped his family become baptized. And because of that, he saw the joy that his family experienced, that he experienced. And then after that, it was just, "Whoever I can help share this joy with, I'm going to do it." The motivation that I get is, the Holy Ghost keeps driving me towards them, doesn't let me get away. If I start walking away, I feel bad. I have to go back and apologize for walking away from them. We had a missionary activity, and so we were going to his apartment community, or his house, and we started talking to everybody there. And they all told us, "Oh, Hector's already talked to us." "Missionaries are coming over." "Oh, we already know. Hector already said this. Hector already told us about this." And so it's just fascinating to me that he had already talked to everybody in his whole--all of his neighbors about the gospel. I was living in an apartment, same apartment that Hector lives in with his family. And he was watching and taking care of his nieces and nephews. He asked me if I believed in God. I was having problems, and I was no longer able to stay at the apartment over there. And Hector came over and told me--he actually asked me if I would like some help. And I looked at him, and I'm like, "Well, yeah, I'd like help, Hector." And he goes, "Well, I can call the elders from the Church if you'd like to sit down with the elders and see if they might not be able to help you out." And I thought to myself there, again--you take kids, and you hear what they're saying, but you're kind of skeptical. And then it hit me. I know the knowledge that Hector has, coming from the Lord. And I took him at his word and sat down and visited with the elders. And I've been with them ever since, been with the Church. And it's been a true blessing. You've got work and deeds and actions. Well, show me your faith through your deeds and through your actions. And that's what Hector does. When you're scared, just quietly close your eyes and say a quick prayer in your mind, and the Holy Ghost will come and help you out, tell you what to say, bring out the words. I think what motivates Hector is his love. He loves helping people. And I think he's really learned who he is as a child of God and loves to share that with others. Hector is a people person. Everyone does come around Hector. On the other hand, he's a great example. He leads and invites people to do the right things. Hector's brought--I think it's up to 16 people in the Church with him now that he's invited to come to church just because he knows it's a better life. Being able to actually use my priesthood felt great. I felt like, "I can do this," not thinking, "I don't know if I should do it. I don't know if I'm worthy." I felt I was. I felt so good when I saw his head come out of that water and go in. It just felt amazing knowing that now he's going to be able to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. My thoughts on going on a mission are, I'm going to go, no matter what. The money issue, you know, it's hard right now, but the Lord will help me get through that, no matter what. You're suppose to help your brother and help your fellowmen out, to help them to come unto Christ. And if our Lord said so, you should do it.
