[MUSIC PLAYING] Even though our numbers may be small, our people--armed with righteousness. It's not easy for them to be Latter-day Saints in a country where Christianity is perhaps only 2%. But they're stalwart. They're strong. They are faithful. They're exemplary in every way. I love them dearly. [MUSIC PLAYING] [SPEAKING JAPANESE] It took me about five years to get baptized. During that time I had the Nanjo family, who always supported me. [SPEAKING JAPANESE] She was my daughter's friend. She was like a part of our family and just like one of my children. [SPEAKING JAPANESE] To me, the Nanjo family was the ideal family. I learned this Church believes in the importance of family love. That's the kind of family I want to have in the future. When I was 17, I wanted to get baptized. But for generations, my family had been faithful to another religion. They were very much against it. [SPEAKING JAPANESE] It was very dramatic. They threw away my Book of Mormon. I had a period of time when I was away from the Church. But even when I didn't go to church, the Nanjo family kept inviting me over for dinner. Testimonies can be strengthened, even with opposition. [SPEAKING JAPANESE] Examples and love from the members are very important for one's conversion. [MUSIC PLAYING] [SPEAKING JAPANESE] The sister missionaries at the Urayasu Ward were very passionate about teaching me. [SPEAKING JAPANESE] Through their lessons, I was reminded about when I had the strong desire to get baptized and had seen many miracles. [SPEAKING JAPANESE] I was baptized on December 20, 2010. It was a time when I felt the most happiness in my life. [SPEAKING JAPANESE] I performed her baptism, and my son performed her confirmation. Through this, my son was able to grow. And it also gave me great joy. [MUSIC PLAYING] [SPEAKING JAPANESE] My favorite hymn is "Love at Home." [SPEAKING JAPANESE] Because this Church is all about family. [SPEAKING JAPANESE] And through that hymn, I learned that God sees us as His daughters and sons, in a big family. And He loves us. I do know that God is our Father and we're His children. He loves us, and He wants us to come home to Him. And I know that His Beloved Son gave His life in order to fulfill the law that will allow us to have immortality and eternal life.
