[MUSIC PLAYING]

Through the great period of growth and flourishing of the Church here in Brazil, the face of the people here is really remarkable. It doesn't take long to become converts because their minds are prepared to receive the truth. So many of them. [MUSIC PLAYING] [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] My full name is Olivia [INAUDIBLE] Gonsalves. I fought a lot with my mom because I didn't believe in religion. I didn't believe in Jesus Christ or God. It was very hard. [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] I would pray , "Lord, she is young, and there is a lot in the world to take her away from the path. Please save my daughter. [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] When the missionaries and I first visited Olivia, I clearly felt that she might get baptized. If she had the chance to go to Youth Camp. [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] The first time I saw Olivia, I felt she has a gift. A light that was hers. And it was something that couldn't be denied, a feeling. [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] My aunt is a member of the Church. One day she had a serious talk with me, and said, "There's going to be a Youth Camp. It'll be really good. Really fun. And you'll learn a lot of things." But for me, this was really hard. Then I thought, if I go, I won't do it just because. I will really try. The first day at camp was hard. I felt really embarrassed. Then I heard the girls talking about getting married in the temple. I didn't know what that was. When they told me what it was, their eyes sparkled. I thought, "Wow. I want that too." [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] On the second day of camp, I thought to myself, she is already a member of the Church, without being baptized. [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] My aunt gave me a copy of the Book of Mormon, and I read it at camp. Since then, I've been addicted to reading the scriptures.

[NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] Shortly after the camp, Olivia was so excited, she invited her father to study with her, and they stayed up two mornings, reading the scriptures, and praying together. When I came back from camp, I wanted to get baptised. [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] I knew my prayers had been answered because God touched Olivia's heart. When God blesses us, he blesses us more than we expect. [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] What was awesome about this change, was that it wasn't hard at all. I told the bishop, Jesus Christ sacrifice so much for us, not drinking and smoking is really a small sacrifice for us, compared to his. [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] The changes the gospel brought to Olivia's life, enabled her mother and father to know that this is the gospel of Jesus Christ. [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] There's a huge difference between how my family was before, and how we are now. I fought with my parents a lot. Now, I feel my love for them growing. That is really good. That is really cool. [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] My husband told me, "We were looking for riches, and our treasure was right here, and that is having our family together, and having the opportunity to be sealed in the temple for eternity." And everything we do in the Church, every class we attend, every advancement, every social activity. It all is done with one objective in mind, and that is to get our people into the temple so they can have those ordinances and covenants that are going to qualify them for eternal life.
