If you young people would review a verse of scripture as often as some of you send text messages, you could soon have hundreds of passages of scriptures memorized.

Me and my friends use a group message, which is a text that everyone can see. There's a group of about eight of us who share scriptural thoughts if someone comes across something they appreciated in their scripture study. Sometimes we'll share gospel-related pictures. We share conference talks that would help and uplift us, especially with our missions coming up. We've usually liked what we're saying to each other because we're kind of in the same boat. So kind of the same mind frame, getting ready for the mission. Every time there's a scripture shared, I always enjoy looking it up and reading it. If I'm not reading my scriptures, I feel like I'm letting them down or something. We just kind of help and sustain one another in doing that. And it goes eight ways, you know? I've been helped by every single one of them. And I'm sure they've touched one another as well. Also with Chase, I remember, after they had lost in the state tournament football, I texted him and just kind of said, "Tough luck but good job," whatever. And he had a scripture that he shared just to say sports is one thing, but the gospel is the most important thing. And that's one thing that I was really impressed with. Who could have imagined not many years ago that the full standard works and years of general conference messages would fit into your pocket? Just having them in your pocket will not protect you, but studying, pondering, and listening to them during quiet moments of each day will enhance communication through the Spirit. Technology, when understood and used for righteous purposes, need not be a threat but rather an enhancement to spiritual communication.
