There is a war going on in this world in which our most cherished and basic doctrines are under attack. I am speaking specifically of the doctrine of the family. The sanctity of the home and the essential purposes of the family are being questioned, criticized, and assaulted on every front. I recently read the story of Marie Madeleine Cardon, who, with her family, received the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ from the first missionaries called to serve in Italy in 1850. She was a young woman of 17 or 18 years of age when they were baptized. [MUSIC PLAYING]

Good day. [BELLS RINGING] [THUD] [GROANS] Pastore, I caught this woman preaching false doctrine in Town Square. [CRYING] This is heresy! Blasphemy against our doctrine! What do we do to heretics and blasphemers? [INAUDIBLE] Punish her! [CRYING AND SCREAMING]

They did it right in front of us all just for being a woman, Papa, and for teaching the gospel from the Bible. I'm sorry you had to see-- She almost died for declaring the truth, for doing no wrong! Oh, my dear Marie. Perhaps now she has the smallest understanding for how Christ must have felt standing courageously alone, scourged and crucified for proclaiming the truth. [CRYING] [MUSIC PLAYING]

Marie! Marie!

These men are preaching of a restoration, of a prophet who speaks to God today.

Ms. Cardon? Good day. We have come to preach to your family about Jesus Christ. It appears that the Lord does still answer prayers, Papa. They are the same men who I saw in my dream. Oh, God has blessed us, Marie. He sent them to us just as you said He would.

The same Church led by Christ has been restored to the earth. He has called a prophet and apostles to lead us today just as He did then. Anyone who wishes to hear more is welcome to come to our home. The elders will be answering questions. Please come and read with us the scriptures.

Well, they can't get away without being punished! It's heresy! That it is! God has spoken and doesn't need a prophet to tell us what to do. But we have to stop this now before it spreads any further. We are servants of God and have come to preach the everlasting gospel, which has been restored to the earth in these last days, revealed to a prophet. Your family can be eternal--not just together in this life, but forever. [DISTANT CROWD YELLING]

I think it's time for us to go.

There is only one way out--through that mob. Perhaps they will listen to our message. It doesn't look like they can hear to heed the good word or let you leave peaceably. Then I guess we'll leave it in the Lord's hands. But maybe the Lord expects us to do our part first. Let's burn it down! Marie, stop! We'll all be killed! Perhaps. But we must put our trust in the Lord. Send out the false prophets! [INAUDIBLE] Torch that Bible! Do you think it's fireproof? We're about to find out! Quiet! Marie, you have betrayed the gospel. But this is the same Bible I've always believed in. I remain loyal to the truth. I've just received more of it now. You have violated your oath to God. It is our duty, as God's children, to learn all of His truth and teach others the same. Heretic! Send them out! Burn it down! Hey! Hey, hey! These elders are under my protection! You will not harm one hair on their heads. Now leave this place or face the wrath of God.

All right. All of you return to your homes. There is nothing to do here.

Marie, your conviction stands on its own. We are immovable, sir. You really believe what they teach? With all of my heart, I know it to be true. Well, I have some questions when it all settles down some. Bring them by, and we will talk. [MUSIC PLAYING]

Even when the world is shouting in our ears that these principles are no longer relevant, if it is the Lord's plan, it should also be our plan. The Lord needs us to be brave, steadfast, and immovable warriors who will defend His plan and teach the upcoming generations His truth. [MUSIC PLAYING]
