In a sweeping organizational arrangement in higher education, the Church Educational System is taking higher learning the four corners of the earth. Pathway was created to make college educational opportunities available to those who otherwise would not have them. BYU-Pathway Worldwide will offer certifications with further options that lead to degree programs around the world, and with a significant cost reduction in tuition. Clark G. Gilbert has been named as its new president as he transitions out of his role as the president of BYU-Idaho. There are hundreds of thousands of members across the Church who have been praying for blessings in their lives. There is a possibility for them to do more than many of them thought. The Pathway program began eight years ago at BYU-Idaho with just 50 students in three pilot states. It has since expanded to 500 receiving sites and nearly 57,000 students. Sometimes you think that you have had all the chances in the world, and then you get this amazing blessing out of nowhere. So to me, it was just the biggest gift I could have ever gotten. If I did not have Pathway, I don't know where I would have been. Pathway has really been a miracle for me. To learn more, log onto pathway.lds.org. Still to come: From the white marble mountaintops, the Christus arrives in Rome, when we come right back.
