Called "America's choir" by President Ronald Reagan, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir answered the call once again. [MUSIC - "AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL"] (SINGING) Oh, beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain. The choir sang in front of the U.S. Capitol on January 20 during the inauguration and oath of office ceremonies for the 45th president of the United States, Donald J. Trump, and Vice President Michael R. Pence. (SINGING) America! America! We are incredibly happy to have the Mormon Tabernacle Choir back again at the inauguration. It is part of America's history, and the music is incredibly beautiful and part of who we are as Americans. (SINGING) From sea to shining sea. Oh, beautiful-- We're honored to sing one of our great patriotic songs, "America the Beautiful." The lyrics were written by Katherine Bates in 1893 during a visit to Pike's Peak in Colorado. (SINGING) Across the wilderness! America! It's one of our great songs because it talks about our great heritage and our continued potential.

(SINGING) Confirm thy soul in self-control, Thy liberty in law. Oh, beautiful-- The opportunity for us to be in Washington, D.C., is an opportunity to serve this great country, the United States--an opportunity for us to share the healing and powerful message of music with the entire world. (SINGING) And mercy more than life! America! Singing at inaugurations is a family tradition. My parents sang in the choir for over 20 years; my brothers also. They sang for the inaugurations of George H. W. Bush and also Ronald Reagan. And I'm excited to be a part of this family tradition. (SINGING) And ev'ry gain divine. I worked for both the Clinton and Bush administrations, and this is my fourth inauguration to attend. (SINGING) Oh, beautiful for patriot dream That sees beyond the years Thine alabaster cities gleam, Undimmed by human tears! America!

America! God shed his grace on thee, And crown thy-- I am honored to be a part of this organization as a goodwill ambassador. (SINGING) From sea to shining sea. I hope that the music of the choir brings unity to people and a sense of joy and peace. (SINGING) From sea to shining sea.
