The Church has updated its official website Mormon and Gay. One of the things I like about what you see on this website is that people have hope. Mormonandgay.lds.org features personal accounts from five individuals who experience same-sex attraction or identify as gay, lesbian, or bisexual, and includes their interactions with family, friends, and Church leaders. The person who's really striving has the Savior in his or her life, has hope, has happiness, can live in a happy, hopeful way. I didn't know what my life was going to look like, but I knew that it was going to be in the gospel. I knew that it was going to be with God on my side and that He was going to help me navigate through this experience that I was going to have to face. I have to accept it's going to be challenging no matter what, and just trust where the Lord is going to take us. Realizing that we didn't have all the answers and maybe wouldn't ever, on this earth, have the answers. But to go with what we know, which is that we do--we loved our son, and we knew Heavenly Father loved Andy. We want you to know we love you. You are welcome. We want you to be part of our congregations. You have great talents and abilities to offer God's kingdom on earth, and we recognize the many valuable contributions you make.
