One of the most damaging reactions that a person who is into pornography can report is that, "Well, it's no big deal. I only see soft porn," or "I only see it once in a little while." Sort of trying to dismiss it as a matter of degree--"This is not a problem to me." [MUSIC PLAYING]

There is no matter of degree when it comes to pornography. It's sinful. It drives away the Spirit of the Lord. And don't talk to me about degree when you've driven the Spirit of the Lord away and you no longer have His Spirit to be with you. Don't try to tell me, as a bishop or as a Church leader, that you didn't drive the Spirit away very far. Because when you drive away the Spirit of the Lord, you're vulnerable to temptations of the devil, to bad decisions. And it's very easy to sink into the deception that so often accompanies involvement with pornography. Whether it's occasional involvement, or whether it's habitual involvement, or whether it sinks to the degree of addictive involvement, it's always accompanied with this idea that it's no big deal and ignoring the consequences that occur even at the threshold when you reject the companionship of the Spirit of the Lord.

Assessing Scope
