[MUSIC - JUNIOR MAILE, "THE FIRST NOEL"]

[SINGING] The first Noel the angel did say Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay, In fields where they lay keeping their sheep On a cold winter's night that was so deep.

Noel, noel, noel, noel, Born is the King of Israel.

They looked up and saw a star Shining in the east, beyond them afar: And to the earth it gave great light, And so it continued both day and night.

Noel, noel, noel, noel, Born is the King of Israel.

Noel, noel, noel, noel, Born is the King.

Born is the King. Born is the King of Israel.

Merry Christmas, and welcome back to Mormon Channel Studio. You just heard the song "First Noel" by Junior Maile and Sailiata Fano. Thank you so much. I have chills all over the place. I am seriously--and when you hit that high note, I was like, "Oh, my word." That was beautiful, seriously. His fault. I know. And then you're just jiving on the piano chords. That was just beautiful. I just enjoyed every moment of that, seriously. Thank you so much. Thank you. [LAUGHTER] So how long have you been singing, Junior? Pretty much all of my life, yeah. Since I was a little baby, my mom was making us sing--me, my brother. Making you guys sing? The family choir? [LAUGHTER] We couldn't even talk yet. [COOING] Just singing. Oh, that's so fun. That's great. And I assume you've been playing the piano for a long time. For a long time, sure, yeah. You're fantastic. How long have you been playing? Thank you. I think since I was nine, playing. Oh, my word. Yeah. And Junior's great. He's super easy to play for. [LAUGHTER] I'm sure you guys make it easy for each other. He's the man. So can you tell me a little bit why you chose to sing this song in particular? It's Christmas, and I know a lot of times we get caught up in buying presents and stuff like that and just, like, the stress of making sure the kids are happy on Christmas morning. But in our home, we try our best to make sure that it's centered on Christ, and what a better--these are my favorite songs to sing, is "The First Noel" and the song that I'll be singing here later. Yeah. I love that. I love that. It's such a beautiful time of year, and it's such a beautiful feeling to just see almost the whole world, all of a sudden, just revolve around that spirit of Christmas. And I just love that you shared that, just centering it around the focus of Christ. It seems like this is something that has been very natural, something that you've been doing for a long time. As an aspiring artist, where do you see yourself going? I don't know, to be honest. [LAUGHTER] I mean, we do our best to sing wherever we can around the valley and stuff like that. And it's kind of a hobby that hopefully one day will make us some money. But whether it makes money or not, we're going to be singing and playing and just trying to uplift people the best we can. I love that. Thank you so much. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. We're all enjoying it. We love it. It's beautiful. So the next song that we're going to hear is "Silent Night." And can you tell us why you chose that song as well? "Silent Night" is just another favorite, another Christmas favorite. My little girl, she loves when I sing this song. It could be July, it could be September, but she always loves this song. And it's just a sweet lullaby that I love singing any time of year. I love it. I love it. Well, let's take it away. I'm excited to hear it. Sounds good. The fun fact about the song "Silent Night" is that the song was actually written by a Catholic priest who, when the organ broke down, he wanted to write a song that could be played on the guitar. And so we have Junior going to sing it on a guitar for us.

[MUSIC - JUNIOR MAILE, "SILENT NIGHT"] [SINGING] Silent night!

Holy night!

All is calm, all is bright Round yon virgin mother and Child.

Holy Infant, so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace; Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night!

Holy night! Shepherds quake at the sight!

Glories stream from heaven afar; Heav'nly hosts sing Alleluia!

Christ, the Savior, is born!

Christ, the Savior, is born!

Silent night!

Holy night! Son of God, love's pure light Radiant beams from thy holy face With the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus, Lord, at thy birth; Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.

Sleep in heavenly peace.
