[MUSIC - "DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR?"]

(SINGING) Said the night wind to the little lamb, Do you see what I see?

Way up in the sky, little lamb, Do you see what I see? Do you see what I see? A star, a star, dancing in the night With a tail as big as a kite, With a tail as big as a kite.

Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy, Do you hear what I hear? Do you hear what I hear?

Ringing through the sky, shepherd boy, Do you hear what I hear? Do you hear what I hear? Do you hear what I hear? A song, a song, high above the trees With a voice as big as the sea, With a voice as big as the sea.

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel.

Born is the King of Israel.

Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king, Do you know what I know? In your palace walls, mighty king, Do you know what I know?

A child, a child, a child shivers in the cold. Let us bring him silver and gold. Said the king to the people everywhere, Listen to what I say.

Pray for peace, people everywhere.

Listen to what I say.

The child, the child, the child is sleeping in the night. He will bring us goodness and light. He will bring us goodness and light. Goodness and light. He will bring us goodness and light.

Welcome back to Mormon Channel Studio. I'm your host, Aubree Liz, and you just heard a rendition of "Do You Hear What I Hear?" by the Nashville Tribute Band. That was really cool, you guys. Thank you. Thank you very much. So good. Was there anything about that hymn specifically that spoke to you guys as you were looking at different Christmas songs? You know, it was a special kind of opportunity to try to take some old Christmas songs that we've heard our whole lives and kind of make them our own. And as we went through that process, we broke down this song. And kind of going through those lyrics and kind of understanding really what that song was saying and what that meant resonated deeply with us. And it just kind of felt like it was perfect for Christmas, and Christmas is perfect for what we need right now. Yeah. And typically that song is a little bit different vibe with those lyrics. So it was fun to kind of strip the lyrics out and just read them down. We're like, "Man, let's kind of maybe make our own version of it." Not that the other one's not cool, but just kind of-- I can't even remember the old version now. (SINGING) Do you hear what I-- Oh. [LAUGHTER] I remember when we were kind of gathered together at Dan's house in Nashville and working that out. And then all of a sudden, Dan got this stroke of genius--musical inspiration, I think it was--to take it to a whole different place in that "Noel" section, which is powerful musically and a great tribute to a great musical soul here on stage with us. Amen. Well, thanks. [LAUGHTER] Man. Would you like me to interview you now? [LAUGHTER] Perfect. Ah, I really agree with you guys. Like the way that you arranged that, it really makes you hear the lyrics a lot better in a lot more different way than you usually hear them. And speaking of Christmas, I know you guys are either currently living in Nashville or have lived in Nashville. How do Nashville Christmases compare to Christmases in other places you've been? I know, for me, that the snow in Utah--I grew up in Utah--was there, and it stayed for a long time. But Nashville, it goes away quick. So having kids, we have to get up at 6:00 a.m. and start sledding. So I get an old suitcase from the Goodwill, hook it to the back of my truck, and pull the kids while it's still cold. But then, by the time an hour's up, it's slushy. We're still having a good time, but by noon, it's done. [LAUGHTER] Well, not only that. But in our stockings we get fried chicken and waffles. Ah, yes. From the Waffle House. Hot chicken. In Nashville, one of my favorite memories was waking up, because here in Utah or other places where there's snow, if there was snow, you'd go to school still. If there was rain in the city north of us--like, you know, cold rain--we were out of school. So we were always looking for our "Sumner County" to kind of pop up so we're out of school. So that's-- On the bottom of the screen on TV. Yeah. Yeah. That's the main difference. Yeah. Oh, man. All right. I know you guys have an original song you're going to be playing next. What is that song? And what was the inspiration behind writing it? The song is called "Mary Holds Him." And we just wanted to take a different look, as you'll hear in this song, about--we had actually looked at this a couple of years ago. But then we put it on our Christmas album. And we wanted to look at--Mary, obviously, holds Him as a child. But maybe later she holds Him in different parts. And so there's some great symbolism here, and there's some great things that probably happened to Mary that we never think about. And that's what this song is all about. That's really beautiful. I'll let you guys take it away.

[MUSIC - "MARY HOLDS HIM"]

(SINGING) Blue light from on high. Joseph kneels at her side. All is calm on this night like the peace in His eyes As she holds Him, Mary holds Him. Kisses on soft skin as she holds Him.

Rain falls from dark skies. She puts her hand over His eyes. Blood still shows from His side. She pulls Him close, and she cries as she holds Him. Mary holds Him. It feels like the world might end as she holds Him.

Since resurrection's morning light, deep in her heart, late at night, She still holds Him. Mary holds Him. And He saves her once again as she holds Him.

Oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
