I think something a lot of people don't realize is how important families are, especially in Native American culture. The term family, it means something more than just blood. It means something amazing. My family means everything to me, and when I think of my future family, I have so much love for them. They're my motivation to be the best that I can, to do the best that I can every day. In the eternal perspective, it's important for me to know who I am because I know that I want to be with my family. And it's important for them to be able to stay on the path so that we can all be together. We're also called the children of Lehi, and Lehi's a descendant of Abraham. And the Abrahamic covenant of land, prosperity, and the blessings of eternal life. Being a child of God means that we come from divine heritage and a divine lineage, and it means that we have enormous potential. I think that being a child of promise means being able to understand what you're willing to do to be able to gain those promises that you're being blessed. It brings me the greatest joy to see my children grow and to see their potential as well. And they're at an age where they're realizing, you know, the importance of being a child of God and knowing their identity. Becoming converted to the gospel has helped me a lot in my trials--just remembering who I am and what the Lord has promised to me, He knows of my struggles, and that He will help me. I think it brings excitement to know the promised blessings, the blessings that were promised to ancient prophets, that have been promised to the Native American people. I think it should bring nothing but joy.

As I've been converted and over time had my faith strengthened, I've had this sense that I want to share the truths that I've learned in life with other people, and in particular, because of my Native American heritage, to share those with the descendants of the people of the Book of Mormon--to let them know what great promises are in the Book of Mormon and how they can achieve those promises and prosperity spiritually and temporally in their own lives. Find out who you are--that you are truly a son or daughter of our Heavenly Father. And particularly to the Native American youth, find out what great promises there is for you in the Book of Mormon. And then trust in the Lord and be obedient in all things.
