I've lived here for about 33 years.

After I graduated from school and went to work, they transferred us to a little city in Minnesota. And we lived in a very small branch.

The branch was about an hour away. During that time, even though I had been on a mission and married in the temple and everything, we actually became ... inactive.

After we moved back to Utah here, it was very hard to go back to church, so we didn't. My wife passed away about six years ago, and I became active again.

You know, I've studied the scriptures--at least what I thought was studied the scriptures. But all I was doing was reading the scriptures.

It's made me sit back and kind of think and ask deeper questions than I would think of asking myself. That's really brought into my mind what it means to study the scriptures.
