I have four kids. My oldest is nine, and my youngest is three. We have a little bit of a unique situation in that I have kiddos that are on the autism spectrum.

We have a lot of language delays in our family, and so scripture study has always been a struggle in our family. I was really frustrated as a parent because I really want them to understand, and I know they can.

I remember, the beginning of last year, I had been really thoughtful and very prayerful about what I can do to help my kiddos to better understand the gospel. And I thought, "If I pre-teach it, maybe they'll be able to understand what they're hearing at church," because even church was a struggle with them. And I remember looking at the manuals for them. And I had a Sunbeam. I had one in nursery. I had one in CTRs. I had a Valiant. So I was looking at four different manuals, and I'm like, "There's no way I'm going to be able to teach them, before they go to church on Sunday, everything that they're going to cover in their class." And I was lost. Ironically enough, about a month later, we started Come, Follow Me. So being able to study the same things as my children, I'm able to study the scriptures in depth. And as I'm studying the scriptures in depth, I'm able to pull things out and get inspiration for what I need to focus on for my own children. I get ideas as far as how I can teach them better. And what an incredible thing that is, to be able to do that.
