The concept is that we offer the resources that the Lord has blessed the Church with-- that are in the local units here-- to all the people in the community. Things like addiction recovery courses, things like self-reliance courses and family history classes. And now, with "Come Follow Me," there's Bible study or Book of Mormon study now. And the Family Resource Center creates this bridge to all of a sudden open up all of these treasures to the community that surrounds us, and that transforms them into now missionary opportunities. In "Preach My Gospel" it says that people have deep spiritual needs and desires that they want to have fulfilled, but a lot of the times they're not yet ready to address those needs or they don't even know they exist because they're too busy dealing with their temporal needs. So the center really gives us a door in in that perspective. We are finding more based on love and on how Jesus Christ taught us to love and to serve others. We're getting to know people on a deeper level and connecting to their needs and their desires. [SPEAKING FRENCH] It really changes the approach from "Listen to me and the message that I would like for you to hear," to "Who are you, and what are your needs?" And once missionaries discover a need, then they can offer help. So, before we had a very limited pool of resources, but the center offers a whole other range of temporal needs that we can fulfill, and it quickly links them to the gospel. Naturally, the Holy Ghost will touch people's lives as they start touching and participating. The fruits of the Spirit will come over them. [SPEAKING FOREIGN LANGUAGE] Like a family. So in the past nine months since we started this center as it is, we've had over 700 people register for one class or another. 50% of those have checked the box to say they'd like to know more about the Church and have become referrals for the mission here. And this is based on just one district of missionaries doing this contact. We've had anywhere from 15 to 20 being taught at any one time during the week. And over that time, we've had six baptisms as a result of this. That's a huge number for France. This is a way for missionaries and members to be really connected as well. Missionaries can reach out to members in their local units and tell them, we met somebody on the street. We'd like them to come to your self-reliance class. How can we introduce you? The missionaries connect them to resources and to members. They're mixing and mingling with the members, and they're able to make those friendships. That's, I think, been another advantage of the center. One of our really good friends, actually, he got baptized back in May. And it was because of the French conversation group to learn French, basically. He wasn't so much interested in the gospel at first, but it started with the French class that we had here. And he's become one of our greatest friends. Before, they didn't really want anything to do with us and our tag that says Jesus Christ on it. But now they're interested, and they like what we're offering, and they like to talk to us. And there's been a lot of people who have further progressed in the gospel because of the things that we have to offer here. Really, 100% of those that they do interact with are left with a very positive feeling about the Church. Even if they don't sign up for something. God loves all His children, and all the resources that He gave His children are not just for the members of the Church. He wants all of them to be able to benefit from these great blessings.
