Hello, my brothers and sisters. I welcome you to this institute class. The focus is on the divine gift of forgiveness. Something I hope you notice quickly in the book The Divine Gift of Forgiveness is that the words are not just mine but are the words of the prophets and the apostles since the beginning of time. As early as April 1829, the Lord told the Prophet Joseph Smith, "[Speak] nothing but repentance unto this generation." So repentance is not something new. This is something from the beginning of time. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Thank you for being a fellow believer, or at least someone who wants to believe. And in this class, if you will be prayerful and do your very best, I promise you, you will come to believe in Him, to know Him, and to receive His gifts with even greater assurance.
