[MUSIC PLAYING] Hi, I'm Aline. And I'm Roger. We are here to help you as you start your service as a member of a Young Women class or Aaronic Priesthood quorum presidency. We just want to help you guys get settled and understand some of your new responsibilities. And have some fun serving. Now here are a few things you should know about your calling.
You are called of God, and as such have been given authority from God to serve and bless others. The Lord trusts you, and you represent Him. How amazing is that? Knowing that really puts things into perspective, doesn't it? As you think about your new calling, think about what it means for you to be called of God to serve at this time. As you pray and seek direction from God, ask Him how you can know that this calling came from Him. Serving others when the purpose of your calling will be even more exciting. And in turn, your testimony will grow.
This is one of my favorite parts of my calling. I love being able to minister to others in my class. Hi! Thank you. One of the first things you want to do is go to your ward clerk and ask him for a list of all the people in your quorum or class. There may be a few people on the list you don't recognize. But with a little effort, you can bless their lives, too. You're right. So get to know them.
You know, you can call them, text them, visit them, send a pigeon. What? Whatever works. Just reach out and minister to them. Your love for them and your effort can make a huge difference. And I believe the Primary has decorations going on and not the youth. You have several responsibilities and meetings to attend as part of your calling. One way to learn more about those responsibilities is to go to the Callings section in the Gospel Library app. It's all explained there. You can also just have a chat with your young leaders or a member of the bishopric. They'll give you all of the details. And do you want me to help with refreshments or just leave that up to the Primary, too? Refreshments. [CHATTER] Three points. Over here. Throw it over here! Strike three. You're out. Planning meetings and activities can take some time. But I promise you that a well-planned activity has a better chance of becoming a huge success. You can plan service and activities in your presidency meetings or even just have a discussion with your quorum or class about what would be best to help with your group. And remember, we're not just trying to have meetings to have meetings. We're always trying to help bless others and increase faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. The Church has created a lot of really simple resources to help with your planning, everything from activity ideas to sample agendas and activity planners. You can find it all online. And again, you don't have to do it all alone; it's a group effort. We hope you guys enjoy serving. When you understand your calling and minister with love, you'll find that this is much more fun than you first thought. So get out there and make things happen. [MUSIC PLAYING]
