This week, I'm super excited to draw a bunch of different children to show how unique we all look. We have different hair colors, we have different eye colors and skin colors.

In the Book of Mormon, you may have learned about the brother of Jared and how Jesus Christ told him that all men were created in the beginning, after mine own image. And so we may all look different, but our Heavenly Father loves all of His children, and we can show our love for our Heavenly Father when we are kind to others. I'm excited to start drawing this with you guys. Let's get going!

[CHEERFUL MUSIC PLAYING]

So let's start drawing Heavenly Father's children.

We want to do a lot of different skin colors, and we want to do different types of hair and clothes and eye colors. So let's go ahead and let's start drawing down here. I'm going to start in the middle of the page. And I don't want to draw a full circle for the head. I want to do just a bowl. And the reason I want to do that is because then we can put different types of hair on it, especially for doing like a girl’s hair that’s long. So I'm going to do a bowl right here.

And so that's just kind of the bottom of her head or her chin. And you can draw whatever children you want. You could do your brothers and your sisters,

you can draw whatever types of kids you like here.

But I'm going to go ahead and start drawing this girl here, and I am going to put a mouth on her. And to do that, I'm just going to do a bowl that's kind of smaller inside of this other bowl.

And as you can see, she has a little smile here. And if you want to, you could do even another one underneath that to make it look like the mouth is open.

And then we can go up above the mouth and do another small bowl.

We have all these curves here. And then you get a nice nose right here.

So let's go ahead and put some hair on here. And you can do whatever kind of hair you like. You can have fun with this.

You can make different shapes. I'm going to do some bangs up here.

You can see that you can just kind of draw these however you like.

And then have it come down here.

And now you can see why we did this bowl here, because we want to kind of come up over the head and put some hair on there.

You could make this look like your hair. If you like, you could put yourself in the middle because you are also one of Heavenly Father's children.

And now I'm going to do the eyes on her. And for that, I'm going to do two small bowls off to the right and the left of her nose. So I'm going to do one right here.

And you can make these, you could do them slanted upwards or you could go straight across.

People's eyes are all kinds of different shapes, and then you can do a big bowl on top of them like this.

And then if you want to, you can put a little circle in there for the eyes.

And so that's one head. If you have room there, you could put some eyebrows on there if you want to as well.

And then let's just go ahead and make a simple body for her. And so I'm just going to start up at her neck.

And I'm just going to go straight down like this and just kind of curve it.

So there, we have one of our Heavenly Father’s children.

Let's do a few more, and then you can make as many as you like on here. And then I'll show you a way where you can make it look like there's a whole bunch of children here. So I'm going to do another one off to the left and to the right here.

So off to the right here, I'm just going to do another bowl just like we did. Earlier.

And I'm going to do a curve right here.

And then we could do another person right here. We could decide, maybe we want to put one over to the left here.

And this is nice because it's going to overlap and look like they're behind her.

So on this one we're going to do the same thing. We can put some smiles on these.

Or you could do some different face shapes if you like.

And I’ll do these really quick, but if you need to pause and get caught up at any time, you can do that.

You can put noses on both of them.

And maybe on this one we want to do some curly hair.

So maybe you could do a bunch of bowls or waves and whatever shape you like.

Because people have all kinds of hair shapes and styles.

If you got room here, you could put an ear on there.

And maybe we could do somebody with more straight hair, and you can use big shapes, and then you can use little shapes on the hair.

It’s kind of fun because you can . . . hair,

especially if it gets in the wind or other places, it could look like anything.

And so we’re going to put some eyes on these guys, too.

We can do some bowls down here. Or you could put glasses on them. Some people have glasses.

Sometimes the hair goes over their eyes. So you don’t have to worry, like if there’s not enough room with their eyes, you could just stop right there.

And then we can put circles inside of these ones, too.

And then we're going to color these eyes and hair later on.

So let’s go ahead and give these guys a body, too.

Maybe we can give this person an ear.

You could even give him some freckles if you want.

All right. So after we have these three characters, this is where we're going to go and make a whole bunch more children back here. And we can do that by just making a bunch of different hairstyles back here. So you could make some zigzag hair if you want. You can make something wavy like this could do whatever kind of hair you want.

Maybe there's some hair that looks like it's split.

And you could do some really curly hair.

You can have a lot of fun with this.

I think this is my favorite part.

And so after you have a few of those, you could go back a little bit more and just make some more shapes. But each time you do this, just make the head shapes a little bit smaller because you can see these ones are really big, and then maybe get smaller and smaller and smaller. And then as you get back, if you want to,

you can do it really quick by doing a bunch of upside down bowls.

And you can just kind of like.

Get smaller and go back wherever you want. Like that.

All right, so let's start coloring. So this is one of my favorite parts.

We're going to color all of these children. And one thing that I'm really thankful for is all the differences that we can see in people. We can see that people have different colors of hair, different colors of skin, different colors of eyes. So you can use whatever colors you like here. You don't have to use the colors that I'm using because our Heavenly Father made us all look different. So I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to start coloring this child's eyes blue. And if you want to, you can create a little circle here, and

it’ll make it look like there’s a reflection in the eye.

And if you just leave that white, you can do that if you like. Or you can color it all the way in.

And then maybe this girl’s eyes, maybe I want to do these ones green. But you could pick a different color if you like. And I can do that same thing. I'm going to just draw a circle there and then color the rest in.

Maybe I'll do that even a little darker so you guys can see it.

Do a darker green here.

And then maybe on this last child here, I'll give him brown eyes.

Beautiful brown eyes.

So we can see all these different colors of eyes that people can have.

Now we can pick some different colors for their skin, and there's all kinds of different colors for people's skin.

A lot of times you have light brown colors or ones that are more pinkish, or ones that have more yellow in them, or more brown.

There are hundreds of different shades, and sometimes the color of our skin might even change if we’re in the sun, if you’ve been sunburned, or

you get a little bit of a tan. It might be even darker.

So let's get a bunch of different colors here.

And if I'm not going fast enough, you can speed up the video or you can stop it

if you need some time to get caught up.

So now we can pick some different hair colors here.

I think right here I'm going to do some black hair.

You could use your black marker.

Or maybe you could use a dark gray. Whatever colors you like to use.

For some people, they color their hair different colors and that can be fun to do.

Maybe we'll do some

brown hair here.

And I think it can be fun to look around and just see how different everybody looks and see what a wonderful thing that is.

Maybe we do some light brown.

Sometimes you could go over it with another color.

Sometimes you see people that have this beautiful red hair

or orangish colored hair.

And then maybe we'll go back here. We'll do some yellow.

Just fill all these in. I think the fun part is if they all look different,

because that helps illustrate the story that we're trying to tell that our Heavenly Father loves all of His children. And He made them all look different.

So we'll color some more in here.

And so once you get all of these colored in,

you can just take some of your different skin colors here, or hair colors, and you can just randomly fill some of these in. You don’t even have to fill them in all the way.

You could even make some extra spots where you don't even have any lines here, and that'll make it look like there's a whole bunch more people on here. And that's just a quick, fun way to do that.

And I am just excited. I'd love to see what everybody's pictures look like.

Because everybody's picture is going to look different, just like every person looks different.

Maybe we could even put some gray here.

And then for the last bit, not only do we look different, sometimes we like different things, sometimes we like different colors, and

so we wear different colors of clothing a lot of the time.

So I'm going to do some green on her, and maybe some . . . er, green on him, and some blue on this girl here.

Maybe some nice bright red here.

I think all these look fun,

and it makes it look so interesting to see how different everything here looks and see all these different colors, the great variety that we have here.

So this is my finished picture. And as you can see, all of our Heavenly Father's children look different. No two children look the same and we're all special and we are all loved by our Heavenly Father equally.

In the Book of Mormon, Jesus Christ told the brother of Jared that all men were created in the beginning after mine own image.

And what that means is we all look similar to our Savior. We all do look different, but we are all still children of our Heavenly Father. Some of us may have different hair colors, or some of us might have different abilities in how we move or how we do things. But our Heavenly Father, He loves all of His children, and we can show love for our Heavenly Father when we are kind to others.

Just like each of the children in our drawings are unique,

all of us are unique, and our Heavenly Father loves all His children with all of our similarities and differences, and wants us all to be like Him and love each other.

Thanks for drawing with me today, guys. We'll see you next time. Bye.
