The Plagues of Egypt Pharaoh’s choices against the Lord Moses trusted the Lord and returned to Egypt.

Moses and his brother Aaron went to Pharaoh and asked him to let the Israelites be free and leave Egypt.

Pharaoh was angry and refused.

He forced the Israelites to work even harder.

Because Pharaoh did not listen to the Lord, the Egyptians were cursed with terrible plagues.

First, all the water in Egypt turned into blood.

Moses asked Pharaoh again to let the Israelites go, but Pharaoh said no.

Next, the Lord sent frogs to Egypt.

They were everywhere.

Pharaoh said he would let the Israelites go if the frogs went away.

The Lord made the frogs go away, but Pharaoh didn’t let the Israelites go.

Then the Lord sent lice and flies.

Next, all of the Egyptians’ farm animals died, but none of

the Israelites’ animals died.

Then the Egyptians got painful sores on their bodies.

A great storm with hail and fire also came to Egypt.

This caused terrible destruction.

Pharaoh still would not let the Israelites go.

Then the Lord sent locusts, and they ate all

the people’s food.

Then there were three days of darkness.

During many of the plagues, Pharaoh promised to let

the Israelites go if the plagues would stop, but he lied every time.

After nine different plagues, Pharaoh still would not let the Israelites go.

The Lord told Moses another terrible plague would come.

The Lord guided and protected the Israelites as they waited

for their freedom.
