Miguel.

Oh, hey, Bridget. How’s it going? What! Bridget is talking to me. This is crazy. This is cool. Crazy cool.

So my birthday party is this weekend, and my parents said I could have friends over for a swimming party.

Oh, that's cool. She just called me a friend. I heard it from her own mouth.

Here's your invitation.

And there you go.

My 11th birthday only comes once. I'll see what I can do.

I really hope you can make it. Bye.

“I’ll see what I can do”? Oh, of course I’ll be there. I’ve waited for this forever. I’ve never been so happy. Okay, towels,

games, cake... Wait, It’s on Sunday? No, Why? Why? Why? Why?

Can...can we make an exception to the rule this one time, please? Miguel just got back from church. I’ve already gone. Isn’t that enough? We’ve talked about this for over an hour now. But it’s a pool party, Dad. She has a pool.

We have a pool.

We have a science experiment.

Dad, this is the first time Bridget's ever invited me to one of her legendary parties. It's just one Sunday. I'm a really good kid. I never give you any trouble.

Yeah, right. Sofia, you're not the mother. I only give you trouble when it's deserved.

Miguel, you’ve been baptized and have the Spirit with you.

You know the difference between right and wrong. So I trust you to make the right decision. Yes. Well, hold on. I believe it would be good to pray about it first. Miguel, ay...

Let’s give him some credit. Maybe he’ll realize that—I prayed and I feel good.

I feel really good about going.

Good decision.

Woo hoo! Fastest prayer ever.

I think we've made the wrong decision. We can't keep the commandments for him.

This is a lesson he has to learn on his own.

Oh, hey, You made it.

Yeah. You know, I found some extra time. So the bounce house is open. So is the pool. If you’re hungry, we’ve got plenty of treats and healthy options too.

I'm talking to Bridget at Bridget's party at Bridget's house next to her Bridget ... gate.

Best day of my life!

Hey, you going to go?

So then I jumped in my poppy's tractor and drove it right into the swamp.

Took two days to dig it out.

Miguel?

You okay?

It should have been the best party ever. And it was, but it just kind of wasn't.

This cream cheese frosting is amazing.

Um, Sophia, that's gross. No.

It's great. And I'm not eating anything that touched the flip flop.

Deep down, I knew I shouldn't have gone, but I just really wanted to.

Everyone was so nice and her place was amazing, but I just felt empty inside.

Miguel, you had an important experience with the Spirit today.

Thank you for sharing that with us.

When I keep the Sabbath day holy and treat it special, the Spirit is with me. And I feel so peaceful inside.

That's true. By Sunday night, I noticed that I feel calm and ready for the week.

Do you remember what we read about the Sabbath? A couple of weeks ago? Yeah.

That the Sabbath is a delight.

That's right. Aren't you glad that the Holy Ghost spoke to you today and helped you understand how important

the Sabbath day is to Heavenly Father and to us?

Your friend has a great taste in cake. Anyone? Dad? Mom? Miguel?

Hey. Thanks for coming to my party. Did you have fun?

You seemed kind of...

I don't know. Sad.

Oh, don't tell her. She'll think you're a dork. No.

Just tell her the truth, Bridget. It was great. Really great.

It's just that my family and I try our best to keep Sunday as a day of worship.

We believe that God gives us so much. So it’s the day we give back to Him to say thanks. So I guess going to a party on the Sabbath, it just didn't feel right. But I didn't know until I got there. Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. It's not your fault. I should have said something.

Well, next year. My birthday's not on a Sunday. So you'll be there, right?

I'm invited again. I didn't torpedo myself. Yes. Best day of my life. Yeah.

Yeah. I mean, that'd be cool.

So what was the thing you liked most about your birthday? Oh, the cake was so good. Did you have any? No, but I heard good things.
