Heavenly Father wants us to obey His
commandments.
What does it mean to obey? It means that we do the things that
Heavenly Father asks us to do.
Jesus Christ was obedient to Heavenly
Father's commandments.
Jesus was obedient to Heavenly
Father by being baptized.
He was obedient to Heavenly Father
by teaching people the truth.
He was even obedient when He was
willing to suffer for our sins.
We can be obedient too. When
we keep the commandments,
we honor Heavenly Father and Jesus
Christ, and we become more like Them.
I'm going to show you some pictures and ask you some questions about what
these kids can do to be obedient to Heavenly Father's commandments.
You can pause the video while
you think about your answer.
Eduardo doesn't want to share
a ball at school. What could he do that could show
obedience to God's commandment to love one another? Did you say he
should share? That's right.
Sharing helped Eduardo have more fun.
Hadiza has chores to do. Hmm.
What would be obedient? Did you say she
should do her chores? That's right.
Look! Hadiza’s smiling.
She’s doing her best.
Hannah really wants that candy bar in
the store. What would be obedient?
Did you say she should be honest
and pay for it? That's right.
Hannah would not take something
that didn't belong to her.
Andre sees Alfonzo sitting alone. What
would be obedient to Heavenly Father?
That’s right. Andre talks to Alfonso
and is a friend to him.
Now Alfonso knows that somebody
cares about him.
Astrid is very tired.
She wants to go to bed.
Is there something she can do first to
show her obedience to Heavenly Father?
Did you say that she could pray?
That's right.
Astrid feels good that
she showed her love for Heavenly Father, and she feels
Heavenly Father’s love for her.
Well done. You did a great job.
Can you think about times when you can
be obedient to Heavenly Father?
See you next time.
