As you watch, look for different ways keeping our covenants helps us become more like Heavenly Father and Jesus.

Sisters, are you ready? Me too. Here we go.

-Okay. What’s four times four? -Uh, 18. -Close. 16. -Oh, 16.

16. Right.

Okay. Good. What’s three times eight?

Shh. I know you know the answer.

Uh, 32? -Well... -Ugh. I can’t get it. It’s okay, try again. Three times eight. -You’ve got this. -28. Not quite.

Ugh. I can’t get it. This is frustrating me.

Wait. Victor! You got it. You just need to practice some more. And- You’re right, Gill. I think he just blew a feather.

He’s been trying to learn new things. But he’s just getting frustrated.

-We need to help him remember. -Remember what?

That he’s a Child of God. That he has made promises with Him, and that also makes him a child of the covenant.

-A what? -A child of the covenant.

Interesting. We should make sure he remembers that.

It’s time for Making Friends. (laughs) Covenants help us know how to become like Jesus. Yeah, when I got baptized, I promised to follow Jesus, help others, and keep His commandments. Yep.

♪♪

Hey.

Hey. I’m sorry you’re frustrated with your sister and with your math. I can’t do it, no matter how hard I try.

Well, actually, you’re learning every time you try.

So, why do I get so frustrated? Well, it just takes practice for everyone.

Do you think you could walk across this log? Sure. Okay, let’s see it. Okay.

-Nice. How did you do that? -It’s easy. I do it all the time. And you’re really good at it. How did you learn that?

I guess I practiced. And my sister helped me. Mm-hmm. And did you ever fall down? Yes. Did your sister ever get mad at you for falling? No. She just wanted to help me. It’s the same thing with everything you learn.

You practice, and now you don’t even think about how to walk. You’re right.

You want to know what the really great thing about this is? -What? -God blesses us as we are trying. He makes our efforts bigger and stronger. And the same thing happens with the covenants.

When we chose to be baptized, we enter God’s covenant path.

We become a child of the covenant.

-And He never gets tired of helping us. -Never? (laughs) Really. Never. He loves and helps us with anything that might be difficult or takes practice, like having patience. -But what if I can’t do it?

I know I’m a child of God,

but what does it mean to be a child of the covenant?

Well, when we keep our promises, or our covenants that we make with Heavenly Father,

then we get the blessings that come with keeping those promises.

Well, I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ.

Yep. Then you are a child of the covenant. -Oh. ♪♪ Is that you? Yeah, it’s from my first birthday. That’s me and my grandparents.

Mom said I can see Grandma and Grandpa again. But, how’s that possible?

We can all live together again. That’s part of the covenant.

-Did they make the covenant? -You mean like being baptized?

Mm-hmm.

They didn’t know about the gospel when they were alive.

Oh. Well, that’s okay.

They’ll be in the Spirit World learning about it right now. And when you’re old enough,

you can go to the temple and be baptized for your grandpa, and you can be baptized for your grandma. And they’ll get all the blessings of the covenant,

including living together again with God forever. That’s awesome. I love the covenant.

Wowza. This covenant’s really adding up.

-Huh. Now I have to go finish my math. -Come on, we’ll help you. Yeah!

Covenants tie us to Heavenly Father. You mean like we’re tied together? (laughs)

Our covenants tie us together with Heavenly Father and our family, even after we die. Wow, that is way stronger than the string.

Hey, guys, can I play with you? I love playing with string. Wa, wa, whoa. Wa. Ah.

You guys want to see how me made the puppets for Making Friends? Yeah. Yeah. All right, we were thinking about making some pine cone puppets. See if you can find some big round ones. Oh, I see one here. -Perfect. -Oh, look at these! Oh, my goodness. I love the spiky balls. -Sticks are great for arms and legs. -Oh, my goodness, are these pine cones?

Yeah, grab a few sticks. Can you grab a few sticks?

A few things. Toss them in here. Oh, you know, rocks could work too.

Yeah, pick up some good, like some rocks that look like they’d be a good head.

Like this one would be a very long face. -Yeah. -Ohh.

Well, I think we’ve got a great amount of things to make puppets. -Should we get to building? -Yeah. -Let’s do it. -Yeah.

-Come on. You excited? -Mm-hmm.

We’re going to turn these pine cones, look at this pine cone,

we’re going to give it a little bit of personality,

even though this one already looks like it has some personality. This one looks like it’s, uh, an accountant, I think.

Oh, this one’s nice. I like that one. This one looks like a strong pine cone.

He’s going to be a warrior. Once we get the pine cones, then we can start looking at what a possible head could be. The wood beads could be fun. We have these acorns... these acorns, which are absolutely real. I think it looks good. This one’s going to be- ... my, I’m going to an acorn head.

I’m figuring out what I want for arms.

Well, we got plenty of sticks. We got sticks. We also have pipe cleaners somewhere we could grab. -And we’ve got grasses too. -Oh. Grass arms. We could also use yarn to make noodle arms.

-I did. -Oh.

[upbeat music playing] ♪♪ Do you need to use this?

Give me a little dab right there too. ♪♪

Check it out. Ohh. Look, the arm works. ♪♪ ♪♪ All right. Let’s tidy.

Okay. Let’s keep the puppets up here. But everything we’re not using, let’s just go ahead and get rid of it.

-Tidy up. -Look at all these characters. They all look super strong.

Yeah, tell me about yours Natalie. -I made a fairy. -Made a princess that eats a lot of blueberries.

And both of her arms can move. Oh.

What about you, Tracy? What’d you make?

I made a buff woodland warrior. Yep. I love that. He looks really strong. -Must be keeping his covenants. -I made a fairy lawyer with no legs.

I’m looking for leads for clients.

-Oh, hello. -I’m stuck.

Let me help. Oh.

Why do you love to play puppets?

We like making puppets because it makes people happy. And it brings joy to those around us, and it’s one of the ways we let our light shine.
