Hi, I’m Abby, I’m in the Primary just like the children you teach.

I’m excited to tell you about some changes to “Come, Follow Me.” But before I do, can I just thank you for everything you've done to help us learn about Jesus Christ? I hope you know how much good you’re doing as a Primary teacher. So ever since “Come, Follow Me” started, you have had a manual for teaching in Primary and a separate one for learning at home. Well, starting in 2024, these manuals will be combined into a new resource called “Come, Follow Me for Home and Church.”

That means you will be using the same “Come, Follow Me” book to study the scriptures at home and to prepare to teach us in Primary.

Let's take a look. Each outline has two main sections. The first one has ideas to help youth and adults study the scriptures at home and at church. The second section is for teachers of children, both parents and Primary teachers like you. It has ideas you can use to help us learn about Jesus Christ and His gospel from the scriptures.

Here you will find links to the Book of Mormon stories, some activities from the Friend, Book of Mormon videos, and children’s songs.

Every outline ends with a nice, big picture and an activity page to help make learning memorable and fun.

Also, at the back of the book, there’s some lessons called “Preparing Children for a Lifetime on God’s Covenant Path.” On the fifth Sunday of the month, use these outlines to help us prepare for baptism, confirmation,

partaking of the sacrament, and going to the temple.

If it's okay, I have a few suggestions for you.

First, when you prepare to teach Primary, start by reading the scriptures on your own and with your family.

As you do, the Spirit can give you ideas about how to help your Primary class learn about Jesus Christ. When you get to Primary, maybe the children in your class will have already done some of the activities at home with our families. That's okay.

We don't mind doing them again. That's how we learn.

Ask us to share what we learned at home. Every time we teach each other the Holy Ghost helps our testimony of Jesus Christ grow.

Remember to help all of us be a part of the lesson, whether or not we’ve been studying the scriptures at home with our families. One last thing.

I have a little secret about children like me.

Out of everything you teach us, what we remember most is the love we feel from you.

Your love can help us feel Heavenly Father's love.

Thank you so much for being a primary teacher. See you on Sunday.
