Hi, I'm Emma, and I'm Catalina.

The temple is the house of the Lord and a place we make covenants with Him.

Today, for our craft, we are going to be making a temple. Let's get started.

Today for our craft, we are going to be making temples and we can do this in just a couple simple steps. We're going to fold our paper into thirds. So we'll bring the sides together into the middle. And then we’re going to find the middle of the top of our paper, draw a dotted line, and then we’re just going to cut it on the diagonal, unfold it, and then you can put yourself in the middle of the temple. Go ahead and get started. Choose the paper you want.

Then you can unfold it and draw yourself inside. Oh, nice.

Okay. It's okay if you're not quite done, but let’s show everyone our pictures. Oh, I love it.

My two brothers. I love it, I love it. Jackson, you’re such a good artist. And I love the white that you chose for the temple. Temples are often white. That's wonderful. Something that we all did in our temples was draw ourselves there. I love being in the temple because it's a place of peace and light. In 2 Nephi 12:3, Isaiah taught that the temple is where we learn more about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I love the temple for that reason.

How do you feel about the temple?

Um, I feel peaceful and helpful and, like, reverent. Yeah. Do you have any specific experiences with the temple?

Um, yeah, I do. Um, one time I went to an open house in Saratoga Springs and it was, like, super peaceful there, and especially in the celestial room and in the, um, sealing room. Like the sealing room, um, it had the forever mirrors. Um, it just, like, shows everything. Like, that's forever. Like yourself and your spirit and, like, your family. Yeah, I remember that same thing looking at the mirrors. And I love that you mentioned that

in the temple, we feel peace, because the temple is the house of the Lord, and He is the Prince of Peace. Jackson, what about you? Have you ever gone to a temple?

Uh, yeah. I went down to St. George, and I did an open house, and, uh,

on the temple, on the outside, it’s made of sandstone, but they painted it white, so, like, in the sun, it's super bright. I did go to the St. George opening house, too. And I love that temple because I got sealed in that temple. And so it was very special for me to go there. How do you feel when you go to the temple?

I feel happy and comforted. The temple really is a special place. How can you prepare to go to the temple?

By like being helpful and like, grateful for stuff and like, helping, like, especially siblings.

Because, like, my oldest brother, he broke his arm. And when he did, I, like, helped him clean his room, and I helped him, and I, like, made food for him. That’s amazing. How does that help you prepare for the temple? Because if you be helpful, you can be like Jesus and you can be, like, nice and helpful and have, like, a good attitude. Sometimes it's hard to get along with your siblings, right? But it's so special when we have fun moments and when we play and share and like what Bella was saying, helping our siblings, right? We feel like if we’re doing something good, and absolutely we’re being like Jesus Christ. Thanks so much for making this craft with us and for having this discussion with us. I really enjoyed your answers.

You can make this temple at home, too, and I hope you'll think about the answers to these questions for yourself as well. Thanks for joining us today. Bye.

How to Create a Temple Craft

Description
Art teachers Emma and Caterina cut and fold paper to resemble a temple. They also teach us how temples are a place of peace and light, comfort and happiness - where the spirit of Jesus Christ is found.
