The announcement today was special.
I was speechless.
To announce a $7,350,000 donation
to assist with blood equipment, biomedical and emergency vehicles,
blood donor engagement initiatives,
and support for patients with sickle cell disease. It's just been a beautiful opportunity for two like-minded organizations who
share common values to do good. The two great commandments, love
God and love our neighbor. And one way we demonstrate our love
to God is by loving our neighbor and reaching out to those in need. We have all the confidence
in them, and as you know, there's so much need that's out there, whether it's in the United States
or around the world. And so we look to many organizations to
help. No one person could do it all. And particularly with this gift, there's opportunities to help
specifically with sickle cell and the way that they collect
blood for that and help with those transfusions.
The day was informative,
it was inspiring, and I know that today
lays the groundwork for us to do some incredible things
together with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My excitement for that relationship and
partnership is almost limitless. I am really looking forward to earning
the trust of the rest of the members that I get to meet so this partnership can get
to a whole new level.
