Good morning. It is such a great honor to be with you.

Thank you for the good that you do throughout the world.

Gérald Caussé, Presiding Bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, addressed an international audience at the Crossroads of the World Trade Day at Zion's Technology Center in Midvale, Utah. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ, we seek to follow His example. Caring for our natural environment is much more than a scientific or political necessity. It is an expression of love to our Creator and also to our fellow beings. The Church as an institution strives to set an example by being a wise steward of natural resources.

Through responsible management of its global operations, we believe that our stewardship over God’s creations includes,

at its pinnacle, a sacred duty to love, to respect, and care for all human beings with whom we share the Earth. Last year, our overall efforts to care for people in need included $1.3 billion in expenditures

and 6.2 million hours volunteered across 191 countries and territories.

JustServe is a Church- sponsored website and app which is available in more than 17 countries. Its purpose is to match organizations in need of service with community volunteers who want to help. Since it was launched, more than 16,000 organizations have participated

and currently there are more than 15,000 projects available. Our emphasis on education comes from a desire to better help and serve God's children. The Church now spends more than $1 billion each year to support higher education and subsidize educational programs for more than 1 million students in our universities, seminaries, and institutes. On a global scale,

BYU–Pathway Worldwide is having a profound impact on the lives of thousands. BYU–Pathway is an affordable, online higher education organization that now serves more than

60,000 students annually across more than 180 countries.

Imagine the transformation that would occur in the world if every community of which we are a part

were made to feel like a place where our natural environment is preserved,

a place where mutual love and service prevail, a place of peace where our differences are overshadowed by our common values.
