I'm a mother. I want them to be independent and self-reliant.

So I'm here for the child nutrition program

to see the welfare of my little one as she's growing her weight,

and to check her diet.

The well-being of women and children is a major focus of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints humanitarian efforts. Thank you.

The Relief Society General Presidency is leading a global initiative.

Today, I am happy to announce a $55.8 million contribution to expand those global efforts.

This donation will provide nutrition support and resources to 12 million children and 2.7 million women in 12 high need countries.

When you bless a woman, you bless a family, a community, a nation. When you bless a child, you invest in the future.

The Church has also taken the lead in bringing together eight global humanitarian organizations. We hope that what we are doing together will become a powerful model for others in being able to expand and accelerate efforts to bless the lives of vulnerable women and children.

It's been so incredible to see these organizations that are so invested in child nutrition and mother's well-being. Because you each have so many strengths and you have reach.

On a scale of 0 to 10—11! Super excited!

For me, it's an opportunity to amplify the voices of what everyone has been doing. What if we list the areas and then we list who's in those areas? That is what I think. That's okay. For some, participating in this work is based on their own experience. During my time as a refugee in Ghana, I saw a lot of kids die of malnutrition.

I understand the struggles of children and mothers in this part of the world because I've lived it.

As these groups turn ideas into action, the Church is uniquely positioned to help move their plans forward.

I do think The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a special position because as a very distributed organization with congregations in the very communities that are at risk of malnutrition, the Church has a legitimacy in its voice that no other donor really has. Hi. Welcome. Thank you.

The Relief Society's emphasis on the well-being of women and children is both globally focused and member focused. Come, come, let me give you a stress. This member of the Relief Society recently brought local experts together and hosted a nutrition clinic for her community in Accra, Ghana.

We have so many mothers who might not know how to feed their children well, not because they don't know how, but probably can't afford to feed their children the right way.

She then met with Relief Society presidents and other local church leaders to find ways to help children at risk.

The next day— - You have my. Of course you have.— home visits were made.

The Savior had a mission.

His mission was for all of us to be one, to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Throughout the world, Relief Society members act as humanitarians, gathering people and resources together to help those in need.

I've seen many sisters offer their very best to the Lord. They take care of those in their own homes, in their communities, and their neighborhoods. And when you do that,

you are part of this global cause.

Often the best humanitarian outreach is to those closest to us in everyday acts of kindness.
