A Gift of Love
1. A gift of love came softly in the night,
A tiny babe, to bring the world His light.
A gift of love in sweetest, purest form,
For on that night, the King of Love was born.
High on a hill, while humble shepherds gazed,
As angels sang and glad hosannas raised,
The holy Child slept on in peaceful rest.
And through His birth, all nations would be blest.
2. And on that night, while wise men from the afar
Beheld a new and brightly shining star,
A virgin mother held her baby small,
The Son of God, the Savior of us all.
There was no wealth nor earthly treasure there;
His was a gift of worth beyond compare.
For He was born to save a world from sin,
To teach us how to love our fellow men.
