Built on the Rock of Christ (Cox)

Built on the Rock of Christ (Cox)

Music for Choirs, Submitted Music (1992-1997)

Built on the rock of Christ, on his foundation sure,

Through all the storms of life, ever we stand secure.

Long though the tempests blow, trying the hears of men,

Christ, through his sacrifice, glory for us did win.

Temptation’s shafts of woe, sin’s ever threatening sword,

Harm not the faithful saints who have obeyed His word.

The waning world will mourn, paths of destruction trod,

Built on the rock of Christ, safe stand the saints of God.

When Christ the storm shall still, peace to the earth restore,

With saints of old we’ll join, praising him ever more.

His gospel is our hope, foundation of our faith,

If on His rock we build, his glory for us waits.
