Come, Build a Zion (Carr)

Come, Build a Zion (Carr)

Submitted Hymn Texts, Submitted Music (1998-2006)

The gospel light that now breaks forth

From Heaven, as the morning ray,

Is spreading over all the earth,

To usher in the promised day.

Come, build a Zion to the Lord—

A consecrated, holy place—

That He may keep His ancient word,

And meet His people face to face.

The stone, uncut by human hands,

Is growing now with awesome speed.

The truth shall soon reach every land,

That every ear may give it heed.

When Enoch’s fold returns again,

We’ll shed at last our grateful tears,

For Christ shall then come down to reign

On earth one thousand glorious years.
