Even As I Am (Dickman)
Solos to Sing, Submitted Music (1992-1997)
In a world of confusion, in a time of despair.
How can I know where I should go and for whom should I care?
In a world of rejection, what is there for me to give?
What manner of men ought we to be?
How would the Savior live?
Feeding hungry, Helping the poor
Showing compassion as never before!
Healing kindness, calming the storm;
Inviting to follow all who would come
Selflessly serving, teaching the truth
Lifting the lowly to heights of great worth
Meekly entreating all who would see,
“Even as I am ye ought to be”
In a world of contention, in a world filled with hate,
How can I love, where should I serve, what goodness can I create?
I will follow my Savior, asking how He would be,
If He were here: I’ll feel Him near As I show pure charity.
Feeding hungry, Helping the poor
Showing compassion as never before!
Healing kindness, calming the storm;
Inviting to follow all who would come
Selflessly serving, teaching the truth
Lifting the lowly to heights of great worth
Meekly entreating all who would see,
“Even as I am ye ought to be”
