Holy Infant Born This Day

Holy Infant Born This Day

Music for Choirs, Submitted Music (2012-present)

Holy Infant born this day,

Gently laid in manger hay,

The hope of all who watch and pray

For signs that tell Thy coming,

All our hopes depend on Thee,

Thou alone can set us free.

But on this day, holy infant babe,

Sleep in peace, we pray.

Silently in dark night

Heav’n unveils Eternal Light.

Its truth and power restore our sight

Through Thee, our one true Savior.

Humble shepherds gather near.

Mary’s voice grows soft, yet clear.

She sings for Thee sweet lullabies.

Now, softly close thine eyes.

May all thy dreams

And souls unseen

Reveal to Thee our love

From this hour thy name will grow.

Ev’ry land and tongue will know

Thy saving grace and power alone

Can free our souls from sorrow.

Ev’ry heart thy love will see.

Ev’ry soul will bow the knee.

But, on this day, holy infant babe,

Sleep in peace, we pray.

O Holy Infant born this day,

Sleep in peace, we pray.
