I Bow My Head and Still My Mind

I Bow My Head and Still My Mind

Submitted Hymn Texts, Submitted Music (2007-2011)

I bow my head and still my mind

In reverence at the music’s start,

With faith that somehow I can find

The spirit present in my heart.

The busy world has left me spent’

A week of cares had drained my cup,

And so I take the sacrament

That Thou, dear Lord, might lift me up.

The broken loaf is more than bread:

The spirit guides my eyes to see

The bread of life, as Thou hast said,

Can fill my aching soul with Thee.

The cup of water is so small

To quench the thirst I feel for Thee!

Yet living water, I recall,

Thy life, Thy words will be for me.

Today I’ve shared in crumb and cup

The symbols of Thy gift so free.

Renewed in heart, I offer up

My life, my will, my all to thee.
