I Will Heed the Word of God (Perry)

I am a disciple of Christ,

Called out of the world into His light,

Baptized in His name,

I am not ashamed to stand for His truth and light.

I am disciple of Christ,

Endowed with the spirit’s perfect light.

My pathway is clear,

I’ve nothing to fear if I do not compromise

I will heed the word of God.

I will live by every precept He has taught

I will always safely trust in His saving words of love.

My thought and soul on Calvary He bought.

I will heed the word of God.

I am a disciple of Christ,

Sent forth as a light in latter days,

And I will proclaim the Lord’s sacred name

And walk in His proved ways

I am a disciple of Christ,

I’ll serve Him through all my mortal life.

My voice I will raise, His name I will praise for His wond’rous sacrifice.

I will heed the word of God.

I will live by every precept He has taught

I will always safely trust in His saving words of love.

My thought and soul on Calvary He bought.

I will heed the word of God.

And though the world may try to tempt me from the straight and narrow path,

I will stand in strength and honor, seeking all the Father hath.
